Homebuyers given advice on looking for winter-proof houses for sale

People looking to purchase houses for sale in the following few
months have been given advice on how to make sure their potential
homes are winter-proof.
Age UK has told homeowners to prepare for freezing temperatures
this winter, suggesting that properties should be kept protected
from the cold weather.
It stated that insulated outside taps would help prevent them from
freezing and bursting when the temperature drops, while lofts and
pipes should be well lagged so that less heat escapes from the
property.
These are a couple of areas that potential homeowners could look at
when viewing properties for sale in the UK, in addition to making
sure the boiler works and trees are cut back so they do not cause
damage in windy weather.
Home insurance provider Hiscox also recommended glancing at the
mains water supply and checking whether tanks and pipes are
insulated in unheated areas including outbuildings or
lofts.
