Small town living in the Black Country

The small town of Oldbury in the West Midlands is the perfect place
for families to bring up their young children in the quiet of small
town living, whilst also providing them the option of having the
big cities within reachable distance if they should need
them.
One of the most attractive aspects of the town for people who may
be looking for
property for sale in Oldbury in the Black Country would be its
transport and links, and the ease with which the biggest cities can
be reached.
While some people may find it ideal to live in a smaller town, with
all the peace and quiet such a location brings, particularly when
bringing up young children, many may still want to work in the
city. Oldbury has had three train stations throughout the history
of the town, only one of which still remains open.
The station of Sandwell & Dudley in Oldbury serves both London
and Birmingham, and runs regular train services direct to each
city, ideal for the city working commuter.
Another reason people may find Oldbury attractive is for its
education system. The town is served by one high school,
Perryfields secondary school, a comprehensive school which has the
status of being a specialised maths and computing college.
The school is a high performer, and was the highest ranking
secondary school on the Sandwell area in 2009, when 74 per cent of
its pupils received five GCSEs at grade C or better.
Oldbury also plays host to the Oldbury College of Sport, in which
the West Bromwich Albion Football Club camps are held over the
summer. The college is the most popular school in the
town.
